This is where we start to turn your brand vision into a reality. We’ll use your vision and moodboard to design a logo, stationery and brand guidelines that capture the feeling we are trying to give your ideal customer.

Based upon your moodboard we’ll create three logo options for your business. You can choose one of these options, and be given a chance to feedback on any developments needed to make it perfect for you.

Plus we’ll send you editable artwork files so that if you need to print more – or change a phone number – you can do so at any time.

We'll design your letterhead and invoice

We’ll set up Word templates for your letters and invoices, to ensure the small details of your client interactions match the bigger picture.

We’ll send you a stylised email signature, that will lend further credibility to your communications.

We'll advise you on how to create stunning photos and videos

We’ll provide advice on hiring and working with a photographer or videographer to ensure that whatever you create reflects your brand vision.

We’ll create a brand guidelines document explaining how, when and where to use your logo; what fonts and colours represent your brand; and how to choose and create imagery for your brand. Costs

Is it really fixed price?

Yep. It sure is. We’ll deliver everything we’ve promised for the price we promised. No sneaky extras.

Are there any other things I might need to pay for?

The only thing we think you might consider is hiring a professional photographer to take some quality photographs of yourself. However if you aren’t ready for the investment, we’ll give you some pointers on how to do the best with what you’ve got. And if you are ready, we’ll make sure you know everything you need to know to make the most out of your investment.

What about photography and imagery?

We will source high-quality royalty free stock imagery for use on your website. In some cases you may feel the need to commission additional photography (either of yourself, your products or your work area) in which case this is not included within the package cost.

Timings

How much time will this take?

The entire package typically takes between 2-4 months to deliver in full. Most of this time is spent working with you to define and refine your brand strategy, making sure you are happy with every stage of the process, and that you feel confident to go out and live your brand on your own.

How much time do I need to dedicate to this?

You will need to be able to dedicate at least 2-4 hours per week to this programme to ensure that things progress quickly and you leave with a brand that truly represents you.

Over the course of the programme you will benefit from 10 hours of one-to-one video coaching with our lead creative strategist. As well as this, you can leave questions and feedback via your personal project dashboard and we will respond as soon as practically possible.

What happens if I'm not happy?

We have specifically designed this programme to ensure that you are happy. From your brand strategy to each of your brand touchpoints – we have broken it down into small parts so that we can nip any problems in the bud before they become problems. We’ll get the small things right from the start, so that the big things are right at the end. That said, if at any point you feel unhappy we are committed to rectifying the situation.

Can I change things myself?

On each touchpoint we deliver you will have the opportunity to provide feedback and an initial set of changes which we will implement. All of the touchpoints will be set up as editable templates or artwork, which we will train you to use. So if you need to make additional changes at a later point you can do these yourself.

Technology

Do you use WordPress.org or WordPress.com

All our sites are built using on WordPress.org. Don’t know the difference? The folks over at WPMUDEV have written a great explanation of the differences between WordPress.org and WordPress.com.

What framework / theme / plugins do you use?

Framework We build our sites using the Divi framework by Elegant Themes. Although we have built sites on many different frameworks in the past, we have found that Divi is by far the easiest for our clients to understand and use. Theme Using the Divi framework we will build a custom child theme specifically for your brand. We pride ourselves on building neat and annotated code that any WordPress developer could pick up and work with. Plugins We use a variety of reputable WP plugins depending on the needs of the project. In all cases we buy from reputable developers and ensure we have tested them before unleashing them on your website.

Can I use ..................... framework / theme / plugin?

We’ve spent a lot of time and energy finding and refining a set of tools that work for businesses like yours. If you think we’ve overlooked something amazing, then by all means let us know and we’ll check it out. But in most cases the answer is no.

Where will you host my site?

We use Flywheel managed WordPress hosting for all of our sites. We have worked with many hosting providers over the years, and have found Flywheel provide superior performance, reliability and support.

Can I use my own hosting provider?

As a general rule, the answer is no. The reason we are able to provide a fixed price service is that we know what we’re doing with our systems, and don’t have to waste hours (and even days) learning and tinkering with other people’s systems. The other reason is that when things go wrong with hosting – the web designer sooner or later has to get involved. We have worked with many hosting providers over the years, and have found that cheap hosting is fine and well until your WordPress site gets hacked or infected with malicious files. We’ve spent enough time trying to get sites back online, to appreciate Flywheel’s superior performance, reliability and support.

Handover

Who owns the final designs?

As long as you’ve paid in full, you own all final designs. We’ll even provide you with design guidelines and original artwork files to ensure that any future work you commission is on brand and on message. We retain the right to use your final designs in our portfolio and to promote our services. We’ll always do this in a tasteful way that makes you look good. But if you have any concerns about this, please feel free to talk to us. We retain ownership of any unchosen design options, and the systems and templates used to create your designs.

Am I really capable of taking over all this tech stuff?

The answer to that is a resounding yes. The hardest part is setting it all up in the first place. And that’s where most solopreneurs hit their breaking point. But we’ll talk you through everything we’ve done in plain ‘non-technical’ english. And you’ll receive video training on how to use WordPress and any marketing / scheduling systems we set up.

Will I be able to work with other designers / copywriters / developers?

Once we are finished, you probably won’t need much else. But we’ll provide you with design guidelines and original artwork files, to help other creatives get up to speed quickly. And to ensure that any future work you commission is on brand and on message.

What happens to my domain and hosting after the initial 12 months?

At the end of your first 12 months we will transfer the domain and hosting accounts to your name, and you can either take responsibility for payment or transfer to another provider.
